LAST MINUTE PREP IF YOU’RE MOVING SOON

Even the most organized person can let their moving day slip by. Moving can be stressful and overwhelming. It takes a lot of planning to make it all go smoothly. We have the “Last-Minute Prep” list to help you if moving day is quickly approaching.

You will need to stick to a schedule, no matter if you’re a procrastinator and the arrival date of the professional organizers has taken you completely by surprise. While panicking may be the first thing on your to-do list, it is not the most important thing. You can also hire a moving service if you want a hassle-free experience.

These tips will help you keep your head up and make sure your move is successful.

Moving Tips From Professional Organizers

1.Make a master list

It’s a good idea to organize your life if you’re down to the final few weeks or days before your move. This means you need to create a master list of all the tasks that remain.

Spend a few moments going through your house or apartment and creating a list of things you need to do in each room. You could do things like wrapping dishes, cleaning out the cabinets in your kitchen, or cleaning out the underside of the bathroom sink.

Each room should have its own list. The details should be broken down into smaller tasks. You can use this list to box books, wrap china and label toys, remove curtains, and take down sheds. We will be using this list in our next suggestion.

2.Register for Help

Many hands make light work, as you’ve heard it before. This is especially true during a move.

Professional organizers can help you safely transport your items to their destination. No matter where you live, our moving crew is skilled and efficient in packing and unpacking.

The list we have mentioned will be very useful if you are looking for friends to help. Each friend should be assigned a room. Then, give the list to each room. This will enable them to work in a room and not interrupt your efforts to organize or pack another room.

You don’t have to rely on your family and friends for help with packing. You can ask them to keep your pets and children happy while you pack. Because grandparents are familiar with the needs and likes of children, they make a great choice. It will be amazing how quickly you can cross things off your list if you do it unassisted.

3. Keep supplies organized and handy

It’s important to have all supplies, including wrap, boxes, wrapping, and cleaning supplies, in case you need to work quickly and complete each item on your checklist. Nothing can slow down your process faster than sending someone to the store to get more supplies.

4. Transfer Utilities

Transferring utilities is one chore that can often be done at the end of your day. To make it easier, prepare a list and have numbers and names ready for when you need them.

5. Pack an Essentials Bag

Friends and family may not be able to help you pack your essentials bag for the move or when you arrive at your new place.

This bag should contain a change of clothes and small devices such as an iPad, tablet or phone charger.

Do not panic if you’re scheduled for a move within the next week. These tips will make your move much easier. Brunswick Organizing Solutions can assist you with your move.
